If you could have any job… Most days, I’m fairly happy with job. I like my co-workers, I get paid a very decent salary, I enjoy the flexibility and freedom that comes with “working from home”. I like to think that I’m reasonably good at what I do. But is it my dream job? Probably…

Where Oh Where Has My Energy Gone?
As I ease into the weekend, I’m feeling anxious. I did not get done everything that needed to get done this week, and here we are trying to beat the clock to hit the road. When will these things get done? I believe myself to be efficient at time and task management overall. I (usually)…
hearts – 28 jan 2011
Some more of the Valentine’s decorations have appeared. I’m hoping that soon the V-day dish towels will make it down out of the linens’ dresser.
Room of the Week
While writing yesterday’s post, it occurred to me that I have been planning to outline my de-cluttering strategy but haven’t done it yet. I have partially been held back by a garage full of “Goodwill” items, but as I tackled that pile yesterday, I’m feeling much better about the process! Executive summary: Completely empty the…
wreath – 27 jan 2011
Having gotten home late on Sunday and not leaving again until Saturday morning, we’ve had time this week to get caught up with things around the house. Piles have been sorted, goodwill stuff out the door. And the Valentine’s decorations have finally gotten up!
dreary day – 25 jan 2011
A rainy day was just what we needed. The girls and I took care of work and all of our homeschooling, and even crossed off a number of to-do list items as well!
chloe cooking – 24 jan 2011
Chloe loves to help out in the kitchen, chopping veggies for our soup.
Can you handle the truth?
Is it always better to know the truth, even when it hurts? Or is ignorance bliss? Or are they both true some of the time? Along with my renewed resolve to be authentic, I am working to accept the truth about myself and my world. I am trying to convince myself that either I have…
What’s the most important thing you’re putting off?
What’s the most important thing you’re putting off? And why haven’t you done it yet? What do you need to make it happen? I’m putting off too many important things. But, at the moment, the most important thing I’ve been putting off is going to the doctor. I haven’t been for over three years (I…
egg – 19 jan 2011
As part of my “birthday missions” from Absolutely Mindy, I had to carry around an egg for the rest of the day. Chloe decorated it all up for me using googly eyes.
cloudy – 17 jan 2011
Our last day in Fort Lauderdale was a cloudy, rainy one, but Chloe managed to sneak in some time at the pool anyway.
sunrise – 16 jan 2011
I love, love watching the sunrise at the beach! Amazing to watch the sky change every second…
snow boating – 11 jan 2011
School (Dekalb County, Georgia Tech and our own homeschool) was cancelled again today. The girls headed out to play in the snow, then came in to pack for our trip. Rob took the kayak out on the slopes. It seems Rob took some video of Chloe sledding. And I “borrowed” this photo from our very…
snowy chloe – 10 jan 2011
Thanks goodness for all of the wonderful snowy weather clothes we purchased last year for our trip to Steamboat! Snowpants, long underwear, snow boots and warm, warm socks all came in quite handy today for a full day of sledding on our street!
SNOW!
Even before the snow started last night, most metro area schools and businesses had been closed for today. Strange to see so many closings, yet dry, clear streets. But once the snow started to come down, it came down FAST! By ten-thirty, we were inflating rafting tubes in order to sled down our street. The…
tiles – 8 jan 2011
Chloe loves games; all kinds of games. Her new spelling abilities have opened up a whole new range of games to her. Though she still tries to get away with non-words often.
spring, please – 7 jan 2011
Not really. I don’t mind the chilly days very much. The days *are* getting longer, thankfully. And I am looking forward to six inches of snow this weekend. But I’m also on the lookout for signs of spring. I love those first blossoms after a drab winter.
goodbye
I can’t remember ever feeling like this. Usually, by January 6th I am more than ready to be done with Christmas and to get rid of the tree and pack away all of the Christmas decorations, but this year, this year I am just not ready for it! The tree is gone, and I miss…
our house – 6 jan 2011
Jan 6 is our day to take down the Christmas decorations …. the tree is on the curb, the decorations all gathered in the laundry room to be boxed up and put away for another year. But I’m not ready to give up my white lights … they bring a smile and comfort to me…
Silly String Silliness
How lucky we are to live in such a cool little town where a crowd comes out to clean up the tennis courts just so we, kids and adults alike, can spray each other with can after can of silly string. Thanks to my friend and neighbor for arranging the laughter-releasing celebration.
