would have been nice. Less than 24 hours after I had the yard perfectly cleared of leaves, it looks as though the yard has never been raked, ever. I just hope that this week will have another nice day that is free of activities so we can have another beautiful day of outdoor fun.

I spent most of the day raking leaves in the backyard. I created huge mounds of leaves. The girls had a great time jumping. I would have felt great, except that looking up, I can’t even tell which tree has lost any leaves. I’m in for a long fall.
I grew this! I can’t believe it!
Between my watering and the rain we got, the plants are all starting to look a bit healthier. We’re on restricted watering, so I have to water on Thursday even if I think there is a good chance it will rain Friday. It seems dumb, but restricted watering increases my usage of water.

Clearing the ivy from the woods has allowed many other plants to grow. I did not plant these lilies; they just appeared. Last fall I cleared the area in which they grew, and I was so excited to see them appear this spring!
