Attractions: MagiQuest
A video game escaped from the computer and landed in the hallways of the hotel. Kids cooperated and assisted while working to complete their individual quests. We discovered MagiQuest back in 2009 while on a trip to Myrtle Beach. While we didn’t play on that trip, Camille researched it when we got back home and knew
Doing: MagiQuest
On one of our trips to Myrtle Beach, we visited the Ripley’s Aquarium at Broadway at the Beach and stumbled across MagiQuest. As my girls love fantasy, making up adventure games and Harry Potter, they were immediately intrigued. At home, they went online and learned all they could about this interactive role-playing game involving magical

While we were at Disney for a cousin meetup last week driving like mad and eating lots of sweets , we enjoyed some of the new tweeny type activities that have been installed since our last trip. In the “Magic Kingdom”, Camille spent a little time on the Sorcerer’s of the Magic Kingdom .. it
photo friday: myrtle beach
A month ago (terribly cliche, but my time sure does fly!) the girls and I spent a few days in Myrtle Beach with friends at our “usual” hotel. The girls enjoyed playing at MagiQuest, eating room service dinner and playing on the beach. A simple, true break. Well, other than the fact that I worked
Photo Friday: Great Wolf Lodge
Almost three weeks ago (how time flies!), the girls and I headed of to Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, NC to start off our new year of homeschooling. We had a difficult time deciding where to go, but the in house MagiQuest sold us, and we were not disappointed! This is an entry for Delicious
Staying: Great Wolf Lodge
A little over two weeks ago we started our new homeschooling year. To get the year off to a great start, we headed out of town to stay at Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, NC. While booking, I debated whether to try out this new-to-us waterpark or return to Wilderness in the Smokies where we

The girls loved having MagiQuest right outside the door of our hotel room. Chloe was a little frustrated at one point, but ended up having a blast and helping out others who didn’t know what they were doing …
(home)school begins
… though not at home, of course. Last year, we headed out to Wilderness at the Smokies to start up our year of homeschooling. It got us out of the distractions and demands of home and into a “neutral” place. Again, this year, we decided to head out to a waterpark for the start of
great wolf – 14 aug 2011
Last year we visited Wilderness at the Smokies for our school year kickoff. This year, we kicked it up a notch and came to the Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, NC. While I’m finding the waterpark to be less impressive (albeit CLEANER), the fact that there is MagiQuest in the hallways just outside our room

a different myrtle beach
The girls and I have been off to Myrtle Beach a number of times, including Jan 2010, Sep 2009, May 2009 and Feb 2009 …. but those trips were unlike this latest one. All those times, we stayed in a nice hotel on the beach. And this time, well, we stayed at Myrtle Beach State
beach – 20 feb 2011
Knowing that it was going to be a cooler day and that the girls were hoping to go to MagiQuest, I took off for a morning walk on the beach. I was the only person out on the gorgeous beach. Oh how I love the beach!

happy birthday, camille!
Yikes! A week has gone by without my updating the blog….I guess I’ve been preoccupied with other things, like getting us to Austin and working. Last Saturday, Camille turned 11! To celebrate, we tried to get her a new passport, but that plan was quickly scratched. Instead, we went out for brunch at Thumbs Up.
