Panic as we left the house — Chloe’s keens were in the washing machine since they were still soaked (and stinky) from our walk in the pouring rain along Canal Street in New Orleans the other day. She had “given away” her sneakers. The only closed-toe shoes left in her possession? Her rain boots. While not the ideal shoes for fencing class, she made the best of it.
