Despite my pain being reduced enough so that I could sleep, I still hurt while walking. However, we were in NYC! It was not a time to stay in bed and read a book. Chloe wanted to eat in the hotel (yuck), so we headed down and she ate while we talked with our friends, Scribblemonster.

Camille was up when we were done with breakfast, so we hopped on the subway towards the Brooklyn Bridge. Riding the subway in Brooklyn is a challenge that requires a magnifying glass. I couldn’t tell from the map, which stations the R train stops in. Amazingly, we were able to get off at just the right stop before the train headed over to Manhattan. We were hoping to find a playground in Cadmen Park but had no such luck. My leg was starting to hurt. Thankfully, New York parks have lots and lots of benches for me to rest on. We made it up onto the bridge and out over the river. A bit hazy out, but a nice place to eat the bagels Camille and I had bought at the bagel place. We slowly headed back to the kindiefest venue for an afternoon of fun.

After the “afternoon of fun”, I couldn’t bring myself to head back to the hotel for eight hours of blogging and television. Yawn. Instead, we jumped on the R train and switched to the D to get to Coney Island! Both girls wanted to ride the Wonder Wheel, so we did that first for a great view of Coney Island. Then some more amusements, dinner and ice cream before making our way back to the hotel. I sure wish we could take the subway to the beach everyday!
