on saturday morning, we headed over to Jammin’ Java to see another show. I was shocked by the traffic in Vienna, VA. The past few times we have been there, the traffic was nothing like what we saw. Perhaps people were trying to avoid I-66, which seems to be a construction mess at the Beltway. No matter, after the show I was ready to escape the traffic and do something else.

I had no real destination in mind, just a vague idea of heading towards Harper’s Fery. The weather was gorgeous, and I figured that might be a fun place to go. As we drove up VA 15, towards Leesburg, I spotted something and did a quick u-turn to get back to Pumpkinville, VA!

We paid admission (steep) and went right into the “Animal Farm,” which had both a petting zoo (dear Lorenzo, we touched the llama) and other animals in pens and big caged areas. Then it was onto the zip line! Camille was worried she was too big, but the organizers said she was fine, so both girls got to go on it, and were thrilled with zipping down the big line!

Onto the bouncy houses, giant slides, climbing structures, piles of hay bales and more. Other than a form for the zip line, the place was not overprotective of the kids, letting them roam and explore and just have fun. I thought it was fantastic!!

So we never made it to Harper’s Ferry, thanks to spontaneity and luck in finding such a fun place to spend the afternoon outdoors on a gorgeous day in Virginia.
