There’s something about this city. Even if I don’t visit a single museum, I love being in DC; I feel at home whenever we come up here for the weekend. Would being in any city make me feel so at home? Somehow, I don’t think so.
But what is it about this city? I don’t feel particularly safe in many areas — especially the one we are staying in right now. The traffic is terrible – I don’t think I’ve ever been on I66 and NOT been in backed up traffic. The tourists tend to get on my nerves. Nevertheless, after a day here, I’m much more relaxed, able to settle down and just be. I’m able to breathe and enjoy myself here more than any other place we spend time on a regular basis.
I’m going to try to figure out what it is about DC appeals to me. Any ideas?
