lake eden arts festival (leaf) – day 2

after a night of lots and lots of rain, we woke to the LEAF “Family Campground” noises outside our tent. We dressed quickly and headed to Eden Hall for the breakfast buffet (priced by weight). We ate on the screened porch, which was really Black Catquite cold. The grounds had gotten pretty muddy during the night, so we were happy we had hauled along our camp chairs to go see Billy Jonas perform on the big Lakeside Stage. We enjoyed seeing him perform again, despite the coldness of the early morning. After his show was over, we headed to the Kids’ Village to see our neighbor Elise on the stage there. Chloe got her face painted and waited in line for a balloon squirrel. In addition, they browsed the kids’ boutiques, staffed by kids selling their own creations. I think the most popular items were the marshmallow shooters. Camille and Chloe each bought a little “fairy house.” Chloe tried out some instruments; Camille blew bubbles. We listened to some bands play, then went to get crepes for lunch. Lunch MoneyWe had one savory and one sweet. We headed back to the kids’ village and pretty soon Lunch Money took the stage! While they were playing I noticed that Cactus and Saki (Secret Agent 23 Skidoo) were part of the audience!

After the concert, we chatted with everyone for a while, hung out in the kids’ village, then got hot chocolates to take back to the campsite. The girls made smores at a neighbor’s fire pit and played with some of the kids that were around. We ate some of the food we bought, then escaped the chill by heading into the tent as it grew dark out.
