Back in October, tired of staring at the parking deck while I worked, I rearranged the layout of our dining room. And I’ve modified that arrangement again already. I’m very happy with the new layout! We are much more likely to eat our meals at the table these days too!

And now we’ve rearranged the furniture in a second room – the girls’ room. Over the past couple of months, Chloe has started wishing that she were not in a top bunk. But with the furniture in their room that’s been with us for two moves, it was hard to see how to bring the bunk down and still leave space in the room for playing.

This weekend, we tried out a couple layouts and came up with something that might work.

Unfortunately, only one bed gets the window. And the view from the bed is actually quite a nice one. Who will get the “good bed”? We decided that the girls can switch off having the window bed each year. Since Chloe asked for the change, Camille gets it for the first full year, starting January 1st. So Chloe gets to enjoy the view for a couple weeks before swapping.

We now need to swap a head and foot board, install some wall shelving and decorate a bit … but it is coming (back) together!
