minor change results in great happiness

While I was stuck home this weekend recovering from the flu instead of out camping at the LEAF Arts and Music Festival with the rest of the family, I did spring cleaning here at the condo. This amounted to “room of the week” style cleaning and organizing of the entire apartment. It looks better than ever, but I now have a huge pile of LEGOS to be sorted and a large Goodwill/free pile load that I need to deal with soon.

While I did this emptying of every drawer, basket, closet and cabinet, I realized that there is no reason that I have to stare at the parking deck every day while I work. The dining room table (which doubles as my desk) seems more well-placed centered in the “dining room”, but having it placed as such gives me a really terrible view. Granted, our uni doesn’t have much a view, but with a little rearranging, I can maximize the view that we do have. I now can see the trees changing colors, people walking down the street and the sunrise. It’s lovely.
