Last year, we moved from a great big house to a tiny (for Atlanta) apartment. In the process, we got rid of half or more of our stuff. And it felt GREAT!
Somehow, I had assumed that by getting rid of all that stuff, I’d no longer have to spend hours cleaning up after people, organizing closets and getting rid of stuff. How wrong I was. I still seem to spend far too much time cleaning up, putting stuff away and getting rid of extra stuff. Boring!!
And so, unfortunately, our Downsize blog remains alive and well. Perhaps it always will as we evolve. At the very least, I hope that as time goes by, I will spend less and less time on picking up after people and finding new homes for all our excess stuff…. Once I move into my RV or houseboat, I will have to be even less forgiving about extraneous stuff.
