Wowza! It feels like absolutely forever, but, in reality, it was just less than two months ago that we made our first offer and a little over a month ago that we made the jump over. In that time, we found homes for most of the furniture, books, toys, tools and all the rest that we had managed to accumulate.
Now, a couple months later, we’re done. As with any home, we have a list of improvements we’d like to make — wall hangings, window treatments, ceiling fans, new shelving in the laundry room, a chalkboard wall, a tiled backsplash, new wall colors, etc. But we are settled and we are moved out of the house. No more daily trips to Pine Lake to clear out stuff. No more bi-weekly trips to IKEA for smaller furniture for the condo. It is *finally* time to start enjoying the downsized life that we’ve created for ourselves.
Camille walks to the library, the coffee shop, the frozen yogurt place, the yarn store and more. Chloe walks home from the bus stop each day. The girls can get to Kroger, the candy shop and elsewhere. I’m looking forward to using the car less and less as we get ourselves settled in!
