Chloe’s been “sick” on and off for months now. In addition, she’s complained about a spot in her mouth near where she had a filling. But Chloe complains about everything. This hurts, that hurts. I’ve put off on having her tooth checked out as it just seemed like it was simply a little sensitive. Oops.

Two weeks ago, she got a canker sore. I told her that the day we got back from Texas, I would make a dentist and a pediatrician appointment for her – her stomach hurts too.

The dentist got us in at 1:30. I embarrassedly apologized for having brought in a kid for a canker sore … But then the x-ray. I almost fainted. Her tooth had pretty much dissolved…. And she needed to have it pulled. I was relieved beyond words to hear that it is a BABY tooth that needed to come out — it is so wonderful to have extra teeth hanging around, isn’t it?

So, tooth pulled. Spacer ordered – the new tooth might not come in for another year. Girl feeling better already.

The hygienist explained that the filling in the tooth had hit the root and that caused an infection in her tooth. She also said that this “never happens”. Except I then informed her that this had happened to Camille a few years back in a permanent tooth — resulting in a root canal in the only tooth that she’s had a cavity in. These girls got some over-reaching roots or something.

Oops! I know what you mean. My Madalyn is sensitive too – and always has something to complain about. She hurt her wrist a few years ago and for days I accused her of faking – til Michael finally took her for an xray and we discovered she had a broken bone. Um. Oops? 🙂

Well, no wonder she hasn’t been feeling well! A tooth infection will do it. Glad it was just a baby tooth. My mom & I have had similar things happen to us. I’m not so sure about the “never happens”. Glad it is taken care of and she’s feeling better.
