As I’ve mentioned about a million times to anyone who will listen, I hate Thursdays. I admit, it is partly a monster of my own creation. I choose to schedule library day and Chloe’s gymnastics on the same day as homeschool classes in order to free up the rest of the week. Having only one day of commitments makes the rest of the week flow much more smoothly, but Thursdays are the price I pay. With a crazy schedule, it doesn’t take much to make the day a great one or a terrible one. A forgotten gymnastics outfit, missing library books or an extra meeting can turn the day into the most horrible of days. A cancelled meeting, a nice day for the park, or a friendly parent willing to watch my kids while I run home to work for an hour turn the day into one that is not so horrible.

Today was a mixture. I woke up super crabby in anticipation of it being Thursday. It didn’t help that we had to leave even earlier than usual in order to go register my mid-life crisis nor that Camille had left Rob’s keys in the door of my car, parked outside, all night. Luckily, no one took it out for a joyride! On the plus side, my usual conference call that adds to the impossibility of Thursday had been cancelled. Getting out the door while on a conference call is not the easiest thing to do … especially when your kids are night owls, not morning people.

I was able to leave the girls at their classes and run home to get a few more things done instead of sitting on the hard floor in a wi-fi-less building. Our quick stops for library and food gave the girls lots and lots of playtime outside at the park.

The good outweighed the bad. Unfortunately next week is testing week (UGH), so we are NOT free until next Thursday. But tomorrow is wide open. Productive Friday, I’m ready and waiting for you!
