First there was the little tent. Then last spring, we moved into the bigger tent, for camping 2.0.
As of today, we have moved on to Camping V3.0. As I contemplated how to execute my mid-life crisis, I decided that it was time for me to finally realized my childhood dream of owning a pop top VW van. I only hope that this third vehicle of ours will live up even just a bit to my dreams.
I imagine the girls and I embarking on a new phase in our travels. Less reliance on hotels, more together time on the road and in campgrounds all over the country.
I do worry about the fact that it is a VW. And that it is 18 years old. And that we bought it on eBay. Will it be a lemon? Or will it truly open up a new dimension for us? A risk, but one I am willing to take. Fingers crossed that it will be an adventure, not a disaster ….
