After the Dog on Fleas concert at Sirius/XM, the girls and I headed off, with our friends, to their House in the Woods in Maryland.
Back in October at LEAF, Chloe had become quick friends with to little boys camping near us. We ended up exchanging contact information and were so happy that our trip to DC was on a weekend that they would be happy to have visitors. We made arrangements to spend the weekend with them on their CSA farm.
I enjoyed the simplicity of the weekend, reading and hanging out. Chloe enjoyed playing pretend and building with Lincoln logs and Legos. Camille loved learning how to needlefelt. We had a nice walk out on the farm in the evening and even managed to chase an escaped rooster back inside the electrified fence.
Sunday noon, our departure time, came far too soon. I hope that we’ll be able to visit again soon, perhaps in the spring or summer when the farm is hopping!
