Over two weeks have gone by and I haven’t blogged. Here, there or anywhere. Yikes!
I came down with the flu a couple weeks ago while in DC. And it knocked me out. I felt better, flew home, and then got the second stage, which I’m just now finally recovering from. I was exhausted. Just wiped out. It took all my energy just to get my “real” work done. That’s all I could manage. Luckily, the girls were in summer camp down at the beach house in the village, so I had quiet days and they had tons of fun doing something really neat with other kids.
It wasn’t all relaxing, unfortunately. There was the vet visit for the cat. Then the one for the turtle where I learned I’d have to donate lots more time to her, including giving shots to her every other day, letting her outside for daily sun and more. I struggled to catch up on what I had missed doing while in DC; what a pile of CDs had collected and the paperwork, ugh.
Today was even more fun with two cavities and an abscessed tooth split between the girls. Then water dripping from the ceiling.
Today was also my last day doing a job that I’ve done for ten years. I’m still working with the same people, just giving up a responsibility that has become second nature to me.
So, tomorrow begins our 2.5 week VACATION in Paris and Nice, and I am so looking forward it. I will try to relax and have fun.
