Early in the morning of the 26th, Rob let Betty out of the house (she goes in and out multiple times at night). A minute later we hear a dog bark in our back yard, and then a few minutes later two dogs barking menacingly in the front. I ran out on the porch and scared them away (repeatedly) but we have not seen Betty since. We can only hope that she is scared or possible nursing minor injuries. It breaks my heart to think that she might have been mortally wounded by those dogs. Pleas come home Betty!

I think this is the latest photo I have of her, from November. But the image that sticks in my mind is of her sitting on the porch railing on Christmas morning. I went to get my camera, but she jumped down before I got back. Life has been difficult for Betty this year. She’s always been a bit skittish, but with our move (she made me sleep outside with her the first two nights at the new house), her litter mate Wilma dying and the introduction of Gazoo to the family, she has been under a bit of stress…
