As we sat down to plan our family/college tour trip to the Pacific Northwest, I had it in my mind that I really wanted to stay on a houseboat during our time in Seattle. While it took a little searching and was certainly not the cheapest option, we found a very conveniently located houseboat for our visit.
There wasn’t much room to spread out, but we had a fully-equipped kitchen and bathroom. The stairs were steep and tight, but there was an upstairs that included a lovely rooftop deck which looked out over South Lake Union. And the rocking motion of the boat was very soothing. I am more resolved than ever to live on a boat one day!
