Five years ago, our family of four went through a major downsize. We moved from a three-story, three-bedroom, 3.5 bath, two car garage, storage room, giant house (in the absolute best place ever – nothing will ever compare to Pine Lake) to a downtown Decatur condo. Two-bedrooms, two bathrooms, an office, a laundry room, and a parking deck. We got rid of stuff. Stuff… even though we had only been in Pine Lake (again, my heart’s home) for four years, we had stuffffffff.
But we shed it like a snake’s skin. Don’t need that! Of course I let go of things I wanted, but those were the things that were easy to replace.
But yet I still feel I want to live in a smaller space. I loved gardening, but I don’t want a yard — my plants die when I leave for a short time.
I’m ready for a tiny home – a houseboat – on a canal in France. Everyone laughs at my dream … but I will work to come as close as I can to fulfill it….. Because I hate giving up.
