happiness project: friends/family/social networks + misc (jan)
Create, Project 44, and the monthly projects in my Happiness Project … so many projects! In reality, they are all facets of the same project, guiding me to finish or give up old projects and move forward on the ones that are most important to me.
December’s main theme was Health & Self-Care. The main accomplishment for this topic was increasing my trips to the gym and also increasing the frequency with which I am lifting weights. I’ve worked a little on eating better as well. I know that even though I have only lost a little of the weight I need to lose that my health is better and I am moving in the right direction.
January:
January’s main theme is “Friends/Family & Social Networks”. For the most part, I plan to keep up with the organizing I did last year. I’m updating my address book and sending out birthday cards. I am making plans to get together with friends more often and to reach out a bit more. I get so caught up in getting through my to-do list each day that I lose sight of WHY I’m working so hard on this Happiness Project.
In addition, my plans for the month include small items from other month’s topics, such as taking a photography class, sorting out my undergarments and socks, blogging daily, decluttering/cleaning/redecorating the girls’ wing, working on my resume, organizing my iTunes, updating our budget, creating a home maintenance manual, organizing my recipes, continuing with strength training, and visiting the dentist.
As usual, whatever doesn’t get done gets cycled back into the plan at a later date. I’ve crossed off a number of ongoing projects in the past month, and I look forward to getting more things organized and done as well as progressing in the longer-term projects.
