Junior year. The time has come to start ye olde college search. The letters started to pour in last year after the PSAT. And they’re still coming. And now it is time to start putting some order into the search.
I’ve started to read The College Solution: A Guide for Everyone Looking for the Right School at the Right Price (2nd Edition) by Lynn O’Shaughnessy. I’m taking notes of the steps … things have changed a lot since I was searching for a college.
Last night we attended our first college fair, Colleges That Change Lives. Recommend by a friend, we found it a nice way to ease into the search. 42 liberal arts colleges were represented. But the opening presentation was the key. I think we all learned more about the search and how to progress through it.
We didn’t spend a long time talking with the reps from the colleges; as we’re just starting, Camille hasn’t begun to formulate questions. Mostly we were just information gathering and thinking about the various aspects of what Camille might find to be a good fit.
