happiness project: house + misc (mar)
Empower and Energy, Project 44 and the monthly projects in my Happiness Project … so many projects! In reality, they are all facets of the same project, guiding me to finish or give up old projects and move forward on the ones that are most important to me.
February’s main theme was Appearance. I didn’t work on that in particular, but did move ahead with all my items on my list.
March:
March’s main theme is “House”. There’s nothing major that I want to accomplish in terms of the house this month. I will continue with my “Room of the Month” plan; this month the rooms to tackle are the master bedroom and bathroom. I am sure there are a few things in the closets that I can donate or toss. As for the redecorating plans, I have just about finished the current pass of the dining room — new rug, photos, new tchochkes including an Eiffel Tower. I’ll be working on the living room for the next couple of months. I can’t think of much I want to change other than some new throw pillows and some new/additional artwork. As the year goes on, I will continue with my “Room of the Month” and room-by-room improvements.
In addition, my plans for the month include small items from other month’s topics, such as continuing to learn Python, working to find a car care and parking class, refreshing my shoe inventory, blogging daily, updating the DecaturSquared blog, continuing to organize my iTunes, updating the organization of my computer files, learning how to use my mixer, hiking in one new place, and exercising at least 3x a week.
While the list is long, I can see the progress I’ve made over the past year and a half even if it has been slow. I’m more organized, have more time and energy, am cooking more and am happier with my house each and every month.
As usual, whatever doesn’t get done gets cycled back into the plan at a later date. I’ve crossed off a number of ongoing projects in the past month, and I look forward to getting more things organized and done as well as progressing in the longer-term projects.
