Leave it to me to choose the coldest day so far this winter to go on my first “long walk”. Part of my Energy and Empowerment year is to go on a weekly long walk. Sometimes in the woods, sometimes not. Sometimes with Phelix, sometimes not. To make it easy on myself, I decided that this week I’d return to an old favorite, Arabia Mountain. Close to home, easy parking, dog friendly, not strenuous.
When Phelix and I got in the car to leave yesterday, it was about 32 degrees and windy. Not surprisingly, we were the only people there. And despite the thermometer, I felt it was just perfect. I like the chilly weather. I wish we had many more days like this. I despise the hot summers here in the south, and long for days like this all the time.
I have a feeling that our “long walks” will quite often happen at Arabia, despite all my good intentions of trying to branch out to try new places.
