Despite our quite numerous extended trips up to DC, especially the year that Rob had an apartment there, we never made it to the Washington Monument. To correct this neglectfulness, as soon as I arranged to hopefully have a White House tour, I booked tickets at the Washington Monument. And not a moment too soon. Most of the tickets were already taken for the weekend that we were planning to be in DC. While the ticket are free, there is a small charge for ordering them online in advance. It is well worth the small fee.

When we arrived, I asked the girls if they were ready to climb to the top. Both groaned. In fact, the only way up and down nowadays is to take the elevator. Camille is not thrilled with heights, but we had a good trip up to see the views and a short wait to come back down.

I’m so happy that I finally got to go to the top with the girls!
