While planning our September break trip to Diagon Alley, I went back and forth about staying at the off-property hotel that we’ve stayed at twice in the past and an on-property hotel. While the benefits of staying on property are many, the cost is significant. Was it worth it to pay that much more? I’m still not sure of the answer to that question, but I am glad that I chose to stay at the “discount” Universal hotel. With the continuously running shuttle, I was able to leave the kids at the park when I was done for the day. With early admission, we were able to beat the crowds by enough time to not have to wait in crazy lines (not that the lines in September get too crazy).

And Cabana Bay was fun! The pools, bowling alley, food court, Starbucks, and so on were not lacking. The kitchenettes int he rooms were, unfortunately, not so great. Just a microwave and a mini-fridge.

Would I stay again? Perhaps.
