After our surprise stop in Pyrgos, we finally arrived in Thira. Thira is a bigger caldera town than Oia, and all we really wanted was some dinner and maybe to see a bit of the sunset before getting on the last bus back to Kamari. We were tired from our long tourist day and weren’t up for much more walking. We settled on the first restaurant with a view that we stumbled across. Dinner was wonderful, the view breath-taking, the sunset lovely. Alas, our check came slowly, and I had read the timetable wrong, so we ended up missing the bus! We decided then to take out time with some souvenir shopping and grabbed a taxi to the hotel.
