When planning our trip to Santorini, I had no idea where to stay. What would work well for me and the girls? What would be convenient to the ferry and the sites we wanted to see?
After much searching, I settled on Kamari. Located on the water and not too remote. Unfortunately, I hadn’t considered the fact that we would be there before the start of the tourist season didn’t cross my mind. We arrived to a deserted town. A few restaurants were open, but most everything from hotels to bars was undergoing renovations in preparation for the season. The pool at our hotel was empty. The sea was frigid. Even so, we had a lovely time in Kamari and the buses ran to Thira almost frequently enough to satisfy our needs.
