After we made our way from our arrival at Piraeus on the ferry from Crete, we made our way to the center of Athens. As we had arrived so early, our hotel room was not ready. We left our bags and headed out to hike to the top of the Acropolis. We took our time, entering in the back way. And then we were there. We were all so happy to finally be there, in that spot and to see the Parthenon with our own eyes and stand on that ground where the ancients did.
