Before we headed off to Europe for our Grecian adventure, I spent many hours researching the various places on our itinerary (once we had an itinerary!). While my main objective in Crete was the Palace at Knossos, we had two almost full days in Heraklion, and I wanted to be sure we found something interesting to do. Between my searching and some advice, I knew Lions Square was a must see. Little did I know that we’d actually see it four or five times in our short visit… With its central location in the pedestrian streets and cafes and ice cream shops, we ended up in the square over and over again.
