I admit. I’m a dork. Through and through. While I am what I am, it is not worth trying to fight it. I am so much better now that I am willing to embrace it.
And tonight, I found my way back home to congregate with my Fire CAPS friends. We didn’t do much … we hung out at the fire station and helped with making copies, punching holes and organizing binders for the upcoming class. Next month we may learn how to handle chainsaws. Or we might sort canned food. Or we might learn more about the ladders and hoses;
I may not quite fit in. I may be that somewhat awkward person. But my help is welcome, and I am finding a place in the community. And I can help others, even in my small way…
