Chloe’s on a field trip. Sure, she’s been on lots of field trips before with her school, but this is a three-day field trip to the beach!
At 6am, she board a big old coach bus with her class and a few other fifth grade classes to head to the Burton 4-H Center on Tybee Island. (Sure, my traveling is restricted because she’s in school, but her traveling goes on?)
She has spent the past week, packing and preparing. Saturday evening we went to FIVE (count them, FIVE) Walmarts in search of wading boots her size (no success). I have reached my Walmart quota for the year…. She went back and forth on whether to bring the camera – no electronic devices allowed. But disposable cameras? Argh, no thank you. She took it. Hopefully it won’t get lost, broken or stolen(?), and she’ll get some great pictures.
Everyone who has been on the trip raves about it, so I’m sure Chloe will have a great time. She loves the beach. She loves science. She loves her teachers. She’s not going to want to come home!!
