I have drafts of a dozen different posts, none of which I feel are ready to post. Instead of cleaning up those drafts, I’m going to write this one. And like my thoughts, this will probably be a post that is all over the place.

Moving is at a steady-state. All but a couple of plants (that I want to repot) are out of our old (still unrented!!) unit. In the new unit, we are all unpacked and things put away, but the laundry room (and my car) are filled with the stuff that we haven’t figured out yet what to do with. No art or shelves are hung. Bathrooms are missing towel racks and toilet paper holders and the rest. The freezer handle falls off whenever we try to open it. We spent $$$ to clean the old unit to rent it, but this one that we live in? Ugh.

But overall, we are back to functioning in the new unit. Wi-fi, washer/dryer, and new blinds. We don’t all have keys to the door or mailbox, but we’ll get there.

I’m catching up at work and on my other projects. Camille is moving ahead with her preparations for high school (more on that later); much of this was me sending mail after mail to administrators and others at the high school in order to get the ball rolling. Often, I’m feeling like pulling my hair out, but we’ll converge in the end. Happily, my inox is down to nine messages for the first time in months.

I’m following up on my volunteer work and taking on more. And even planning on some new endeavors. I managed to take in a SkyWarn Storm Spotter Class and have plans for other classes. I have been thinking of other places in the community where I can donate my time as well.

I’m looking into good books, good music and good movies. I’m thinking of taking a Coursera class. I’m tired of the same old stuff in the rut that I’ve been stuck in. I have a number of ideas on how to expand my knowledge, and I look forward to following through on some of these plans.

On the other hand, I’m feeling low after reading news that a young woman, who I never knew well but many of my neighbors did, is headed into hospice care after bravely fighting leukemia for over two years.

And hopefully, soon, I will write posts on many these topics… But for now, my mind is whirling, and this was the best I could do at organizing some of those whirling thoughts.
