Phelix ran his first 5K! Distracted as he was, I think he came in last, or close to last. He had a great time, no matter what! He loved grabbing a bagel at the end — but was too tired to walk all the way home after the race.
Phelix had his second dog training class; I’m learning better how to control him while he’s on the leash and also how to get him to sit and stay more. Unfortunately, he can still turn into a disaster. He has taken to barking while in his cage more — at the cat, at people outside and at us to *play* with him. Now that the Christmas tree has come down, Phelix has a great view of the parking deck and barks whenever anyone has the audacity to walk out to their car! Hopefully, he’ll soon learn that those people are not to be barked at.
Gazoo is coming out to reclaim her old favorite spots more and more. The puppy still whimpers and sometimes barks when he sees her — he wants to PLAY wiht her so badly!
On Tuesday, a dog that lives in the building got loose from his collar and “attacked” Phelix just outside the doors. Thankfully, it looks like only his pride was hurt, poor puppy.
At the dog park tonight, he wouldn’t come when it was time to leave. Four of us chased him for twenty minutes. I will not take him back to the park until he learns to come when called and stops playing “Keep Away” when it is time to leave.
