clouds - 9 sep 2012

For weeks, I watched the weather reports, but kept assuming that the weather would be clear for our one chance to go to the water park at Legoland. Even as we approached and saw the clouds, we had high hopes that the storm would blow over quickly and we’d get the day we had planned to have.

As we pulled into the paring lot, the sky opened up and dumped on us. Despite waiting in the car for the rain to let up, we still were optimistic and brought our swimsuits into the park with us. After we put our suits, towels and sunscreen in a locker, we proceeded on to buy ponchos. During the lull in the rain, we explored Miniland. But the rain started up again soon, and the rides all shut down.

To get out of the rain, we found the indoor activities – lunch, building with Legos, and the “4-D movie”. Then, finally, the rain let up and all the rides opened up. Since we practically had the park to ourselves by then, we didn’t have to wait in a single line and were able to ride everything we wanted to ride.

Unfortunately, the whole reason we went was to see the water park — and that, disappointingly, never opened despite the weather having cleared up.

This is an entry for Delicious Baby’s Photo Friday.
