Back in april, I gave myself a break from my various projects. That break lasted until now, despite a few attempts to get going again over the summer. I’m back in the saddle again … or at least climbing into it.

I think I went through a bit of a “low” over the summer. It was the first year in a long time that we didn’t go on a “big adventure”. I was feeling my age and have been feeling sad about all the things that I will never get to do. But, I think, I’m past that now. I’m thinking not about the adventures lost, but the adventures yet to come. And doing what I need to do to make sure that I’m ready for them!

I’ve taken a few baby steps — I’ve been forcing myself to step out of my comfort zone as much as possible. I rode rollercoasters, played in the waves at the beach, climbed to the top of the lighthouse, rode my bike, parked Evie, stopped and smelled the roses. I asked the girls to take photos of *me* while we were on our adventures this past week.

Now that we are home, I’m clearing out the list of things that need to get done (cat to the vet, Chloe to the dentist, and so on) as quickly as I can — I even made five phone calls today, which might be a record for me, much as I hate making calls, especially to medical offices.

Come October first, I’ll be ready to work on my projects ….
