I’m now even more official. At long last, I’ve managed to collect my patches from Fire Station 2 and get them and the shirts over to the tailor’s to have them sewed on properly. BTW, CAPS stands for “Citizens Assisting Public Safety”. I am a trained volunteer for the Decatur Fire Department, but I am in no way a volunteer fire woman. We CAPS assist in cold-zone capacities. I’ve handed out band-aids at festivals, helped people sign up for Smart 911, given tours of the station and other stuff like that.
