Of course, yesterday I posted about my low carb aspirations … and on my calendar today was the super-secret kickstarter pre-opening party at Revolution Donuts.

I was NOT going to miss going to a tasting party at a place I had “invested” in. In order to help with my goal, Camille and I walked down to their new store. While it is only just over a mile away, people in Decatur seem to not want to walk, even given how hard Decatur touts itself as a “walkable city”. A mile? It is only a mile!

We arrived at the new store to see the crowd spilling out onto the front walk. The line inside moved quickly, and we were treated to our free (small) two donuts each and coffee. The “staff” (family?) was friendly, welcoming and appreciative of our tip (small as it was).

After serving ourselves coffee, Camille and I found ourselves a place at the counter facing the street. I had just started to relax (telling myself to only try a bite of each donut), when Camille, being Camille, managed to spill her coffee all over herself, the counter and the floor. We cleaned up after her spill as best we could using our napkins, but the moment was gone. And I wanted to head out VERY quickly after that ….
