No, I’m not talking about Disney … despite our recent whirlwind. No, I’m talking about Arabia Mountain. We’ve “hiked” this DeKalb County Park outcrop a few times in past years but have returned twice in the past month.
Chloe gets bored. Camille generally is unreceptive to being out of doors and hiking. But they both *love* to go to Arabia Mountain …. There’s almost not a single dull moment as we head down through the woods to the bombing lake and then back up the outcrop amid the amazing flora and through the gravestone graveyard.
We make up stories of fairies living in the wonderland. We imagine scenes from the fantasy books that we’re read or are writing happening in this unique landscape. We can’t wait until we can return again. Maybe the tadpoles will have become frogs?
