A few weeks ago, we packed up Evie for a weekend trip and headed to Florence Marina State Park along the Chattahoochee where it is Lake George/Eufaula and separates Alabama and Georgia. To get there, we crossed into Alabama and then back into Georgia, and I had no idea what time it was all weekend since we were right on the edge of the time zone.
I had expected the park to be packed; in fact, we were pretty much the only campers other than the campground hosts. It was eerie to be alone out there with the owls.
We did not spent much time exploring Florence Marina as we spent most of Saturday exploring Providence Canyon State Park. We did not get to renting a little boat to take out on the water, but the girls did get the chance to play the (not impressive but fun anyway) mini-golf course.
We all hope to go back one day and explore the area some more.
