Okay, sure, I can’t imagine that anyone at the Decatur Library has noticed, but I’ve been on a bit of a borrowing spree. At least this kind won’t adversely affect my credit rating. (Except that this story of the police coming after a 5-year old with overdue books has me checking my library account daily in fear of letting a single book overstay its visit with me.)

But ever since we’ve moved to Decatur, I’ve been more inspired to not only browse the racks but also order books online — which I could have easily done when living in Pine Lake. But there’s something to knowing that the library can be on my agenda. Every. Single. Day. (And FourSquare is sure to let me know that I hit the library every day…the squarebot has told me that I have a crush on the librarian, but no, I love the books themselves.)

And, so, I’m like a kid in a candy shop. I can’t say no. And now I’m worried that the library may come knocking on the door asking for their stacks back. In the meantime, I’ve taken the time to write a check and donate to the Friends of the Decatur Library. Since I won’t risk getting any fines, this is a small step in starting to give back.

And now, I’m going to sign off and try to tackle the stack I’ve brought home. And tomorrow? I’m going to go through my “Movies to Watch” list and see how many I can stock up on at the library….
