With this downsize move and Chloe’s starting school, our traveling lifestyle came to a sad, screeching halt. I miss it. Last January, we had a weekend at the cabin, a quick roadtrip to DC, a luxurious week at the Ritz in Fort Lauderdale and a frigid couple days in New Orleans. This January? We started out at the cabin just like last year, but have little else planned. And that depresses me.

I love our new home, but I sure do miss our life on-the-go. While we can’t go back to the long trips as long as Chloe is in school, I’m trying to figure out how to add some travels into our schedule. This weekend, we’re headed off in Evie to a Georgia State Park, and I can’t wait… I hope that we can have more frequent weekend trips in Evie to places in the southeast. There’s lots to see here, and, for now, that will have to be enough.

Alas, the girls and I are out of practice with packing. We had it down to a science in the past, but we’ve forgotten. Thankfully, I have created various packing lists over the years so we don’t have to start from scratch. Unfortunately, in the move things got distributed into different places. I don’t know what’s in Evie, what’s in the storage unit and what’s in the condo (and what I got rid of). Hopefully with this trip, we can get more organized.
