I didn’t sleep well at all last night. Why is it that every appliance in the condo must inform us that the power has gone off and come back on? Beep Beep Beep. All. Night. Long. Add into the mix some aches and pains, and it was a rough night. I finally gave up at 5am and got up. After picking up, checking my work email, making my bed and taking a shower, I sat down to read a book and fell asleep for another hour. Does it count as a nap if you fall asleep at 7am?

Despite the odds being stacked against me, I had a third-straight great day of tackling the to do list without lots of spinning of wheels and wasting time on useless non-tasks.

Completing an item gives me energy to tackle a couple more. As my list shrinks, I’m inspired, feeling the lethargy melting away.

Obviously, I don’t want to live my life via a to-do list; I can’t imagine anything more boring and miserable. But until I can get myself caught up and back on track (a matter of weeks, I think), I’ve got to keep to the plan. Once I’ve got it back to a manageable state, I’ll need to keep on top if it to not head down the cycle of NOT getting things done.

For balance, I’m thinking February’s Happiness Project topic ought to be “Spontaneity” !

finished her list for the day
