Is it an age thing? Am I lacking on some vital nutrients?

I used to be able to multitask efficiently. There’s no way I could have worked, traveled, homeschooled, gardened, de-cluttered, blogged and the rest if I wasn’t multi-tasking every second of the day.

But these days, not only do I stink at multi-tasking, I hate it.

I want to concentrate on one thing at a time. I don’t want to fill every available moment with “productivity”. I want lost moments of time — not lost to the lure of social media and web-surfing, but lost to breathing deeply and being in the moment.

But, alas, I’m having trouble turning off my brain. I feel scatter-brained. How can I reel myself back in and deeply focus? I can sense that this needs to be an item on my happiness project/goals for 2012 … time to start building my list, I think.
