Okay, not really, but it certainly is starting to feel that way.

Yesterday, I really felt the toll that moving has taken on me. After Camille and I unloaded the car, I took a TWO hour nap…and still had to go to bed by 9:30pm. I’m just exhausted.

Moving is hard work. But a downsize move? That’s exhausting. In our last move, we just moved everything, then sorted it into “garage sale, trash, recycling and goodwill” piles at the new house. These piles could be dealt with at a comfortable pace. But this move? Not so. I have to take daily, sometimes multiple trips, out to the old house to sort and deal with the piles. And not at my leisure. There is a tight deadline on getting those piles GONE!

Along with work, school and furnishing the new place with downsized furniture, I’m stretched beyond my time and energy limits. My body aches all over; my head hurts.

We are down to a “go to storage unit” pile in the office, a few random things in the storage room including boxes of papers that need to go to the shredders, and a bunch of trash/goodwill/storage unit piles in the garage. There are still many, many trips to be made before the house will be empty, but I just can’t bring myself to head over there today to handle it.

I was so sure that we could be out by the first, but now I’m just hoping to be done this weekend. And then I’ll need a nap … a very LONG nap before I can get on with it.
