Out West Trip: Day 25 (Moab, UT to Vernal, UT)

Today’s Highlights:Campground cat jumping out of a tree next to my computer while I tried to work. Eating delicious sandwiches at BedRock Depot on Brontosaurus Blvd. in Dinosaur, CO.

I got up early for a conference call, but could not connect to the wi-fi. I went up to the front of the park to try to get a better signal, but still could not get online. I participated in the call, but couldn’t see the presentation. Rob brought me coffee, and the campground cat jumped out of the tree onto the table next to my computer to check out the coffee cup. On the way out of Moab, we stopped at the Radio Shack for some battery thingie, then made our way north, east and north through Utah and Colorado. We stopped in Dinosaur, CO, for lunch at BedRock Depot on Brontosaurus Blvd. The sandwiches were really, really good; a very nice place to stop. Rob and the girls managed to eat ice creams as well.

We soon reached the western side of Dinosaur National Monument. Chloe asked at the visitor’s center about climbing on the dinosaur outside, but was told that since the NP took over the building, no climbing is allowd. We drove into the park and saw the real visitor’s center which had been condemned. We drove further, seeing pictographs in the rocks and then went for a short hike in a box canyon.

We backtracked to the highway and continued on to Vernal and found the KOA. Chloe and I went to the pool for a while; Chloe tried to make friends with a little boy, but he didn’t know about The Eagles, The Beatles and Doctor Who. We then relaxed at the van. The lunch sandwiches had filled us so much that we skipped dinner. A storm came in with lightning and wind, but only a little bit of wind. Rob worked on hooking up the cooler to the electric outlet so it didn’t just run on battery.
