Today’s Highlights:
Leaving Las Vegas. The low sun on the cliffs of the Zion Canyon. A 360 view from La Verkin Overlook. Dinner in our lakeside campsite near Hurricane, UT.
After far to few hours of sleep, we got up due to the heat and the noise of the pressure washer. Really? Pressure washing in the Las Vegas campground at 7am on a Saturday? While the girls showered, Rob and I tried to catch up on things on our computers.
We left the KOA in a hurry, managed to find a Starbucks and buy Camille some Sudafed for her stuffy ears. We then turned around and headed back for a last pass of The Strip before leaving Las Vegas.
After a short pass through Arizona, we were back in Utah. We stopped at the Walmart in St. George for some supplies then headed to Quail Creek State Park to find our campsite. We only stopped for a minute before heading up to Zion. Both girls were tired from lack of sleep the previous evening, so we only watched the movie and rode the canyon shuttle to the end and back. On the way back to the campground, we took a detour to the La Verkin Overlook.
Back at the campsite, we set up the van, made a simple dinner and then relaxed for a little while before going to bed early.
