Today’s Highlights: Explored the south rim of the Grand Canyon, Rob hiked the Bright Angel Trail, Gwyneth and the girls watched the sunset.
We slept in a little bit, then had a quick breakfast before walking over to the shuttle bus to the rim shuttle bus. We spent the entire morning riding the bus, walking and exploring every stop along the south rim, ending at Hermit’s Rest where we teased the raven with the ice cream snack. More buses back to the visitor center where we bought postcards and watched a movie about the Grand Canyon. On the way back to our campsite, we stopped at the market to pick up a few things.
After a late/lunch early dinner, Chloe took a nap while Camille and I cleaned up and Rob went off to hike down the Bright Angel Trail. The girls and I then rode the bus back to the visitor’s center to get the passport book stamped. We tried to go to Park HQ to connect to the wi-fi, but the building closes at 5pm and we couldn’t connect from outside. Instead of checking email, etc, we took showers ($2 a piece) and then went to the ranger talk before walking out to the rim to watch the sunset. When we got back, we did laundry and Rob, back from his hike, lit another campfire.
