We’re in the midst of preparations for the “epic trip out west”. One more full day left until we hit the road. Packing that has been done: 0.

But packing != preparations. Obviously.

I’ve been getting my ducks in a row. Packing lists are growing. To-do lists, shrinking, thankfully.

The house is now very, very organized and (sorta) clean (cleaning service will come in June and finish up). iPods and iPads are filled. Post office has been informed (sort of). House sitter has been found. Cat food purchased. REI been wiped out. Travel apps, books and maps acquired.

Anxious? Yes. Though excited and enthusiastic.

Moments of complete calm interspersed with moments of freaking out.

It is ONLY five weeks; five DOMESTIC weeks at that. But, the idea of living in a van for FIVE weeks with three other people is kind of nerve-wracking in itself.

I’m inhaling every moment of being home ALONE this afternoon.
