We finally managed to get everything packed up and got out the door. The park wasn’t too far away, so we had plenty of time to register and pick out a nice site along the river.

Camille made much of tonight’s dinner, which I modified from the “menu planner”. I didn’t use store-bought garlic bread but made our own. I used whole-wheat pasta and fresh broccoli. I’m finding it very easy to make the processed recipes into more wholesome … I hope I can continue to make minor adjustments….

The girls get a (virtual) weekly allowance. Allowance at our house is not tied to chores, though on rare occasions I have been known to fine the girls when certain rules have been broken, most notably CDs and DVDs not getting put away. I’ve considered fining for gum wrappers on the floor and apple cores

The “Audubon Experience” package that we purchased in New Orleans included the Audubon Insectarium. I hadn’t planned o going (bugs?), but as it was part of the package and centrally located on Canal Street, I figured we might as well give it a try.
